We're
pleased to announce these short films will screen as part of
our 2008 festival.
New Detroit - 15 min - NYC
Ben Bowman of NYU's Film Department crafts a gorgeously grim and
twistedly funny vision of a retro-bureaucratic future in which
we've extinguished the sun and must find an alternative.
Scapegoats – 9 min – Los Angeles
From Writer Director Jesse Lawler (Pirate Camp starring Corbin Bernsten)
Stars Joshua Feinman (Mr. Woodcock, Transformers) Ryan Honey (General Hospital) and Kaitlin Olson (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Riches, Curb Your Enthusiasm). When a roommate messes up the kitchen someone has to take the fall.
The Cobbler – 15 min – New York
Directed by Minnie Tran and written by Voorheesville, NY native
Bernie Schallehn. This short film stars Randall Duk Kim (The Keymaker
in The Matrix Reloaded, Dr. Crab in Memoirs of A Geisha). This quirky comedy may touch you somewhere deep in your stomach.
Jean's Postmodern Masterpiece - 13 min - Oberlin, OH
Oberlin College sophomore Jason Outenreath wrote and directed
this sharp satire of ego-maniacal student filmmaker auteurs. The
lengths Jean will go to for his art are nothing compared to the
lengths he'll go to for his reputation among his peers.
eScape - excerpts - Scotia, NY
Mike Feurstein directed over 30 local student actors ages 5-15 in this sci-fi mix of Lost and The Matrix, shot entirely in the Capital Region.
These
are just a few of the many great short films we have recieved. Our
selection process has just begun. More films will be announced soon.
