A
few of the films submitted to the festival were less narrative and more
experimental than those we chose to feature in our scheduled
screenings. But these unusual films deserved a setting of their own. We
thought they might be better suited to an intimate art gallery
environment. In this location people can watch the films several times
if they wish since the films will play in a repeating loop.
So our Experimental Expo will be showcased in the Strolling Village Artisans building at 20 Washington Street on the second floor. The gallery is open
8/1 FRIDAY - 11 am - 9 pm
8/2 SATURDAY - 11 am - 5 pm
8/3 SUNDAY - 11 am - 4 pm
The films to be featured there include:
Motion Portrait
- At its most basic, film is pictures that move. Glens Falls filmmaker
John Yost reminds us of this by using a film camera to capture the not
so still images of friends and family.
The Delaware Project - Melanie Shatzky and Brian Cassidy's film was the winner of the Gold Plaque Award for Experimental Film at Chicago.
Shattered - 18
year old filmmaker Ben Scwartz uses a split screen tecnique to emphasis
the mental breakdown of an institutionalized patient.
